They seem to do just fine with #7 shot. I'd recommend starting out with a very clean bore and choke.

Thanks,

I tried the 3 1/2" #6's in my Browning Gold with an SSX and it shot in the low 140's. Wasn't a real even pattern though. I haven't tried any of the #7's, but I am curious how they would do.

I do not see good patterns with the #6 Heavyweight shot in that choke. The best are with the 3" shells with #7 shot.

my 835 with the .676 stardot choke loves the Federal HW #7's

What kind of numbers are you turning with that combo? I plan on running a few HW 7s through mine sooner or later.

Shot my 3500 yesterday at  40 yds measured with a rangefinder ,SSX and 3 1/2 Fed hvyw 7's and got an even 200 in the 10 inch circle. Also shot some of the #6 pre-fc federal lead 6's and got 116 and 126(3 1/2 inch). Those are the best numbers I have gotton out of both of those shells

I'm shooting the 3 1/2 HW #7 through a .650 Trulock and avg 175 at 40 yards. Seeing what those things do to a bird, I'd be happy with anything much over 125!

Good to hear the SSX is working with the Fed 7s in 12ga guns. 200 is awesome.
