I have the chance to turkey hunt this area what kind of hunting can I expect also how do the non resident license working

The only license you can get now would be for the May 6 -31 hunt.Earlier hunts are by a lotto type drawing.I think you have to buy your license before May 1st or your out of luck. The license is good for the entire lower  with the exception of public land in the southern half. Best bet ios to access the dnr website and check out the 2012 turkey hunting digest. Or take a trip across the border and pick up a copy at most sporting goods stores that sell licences. Cabelas would be a good place to stop.

Mecosta County has a good amount of public ground and a fair amount of birds. If you have some private ground to hunt, even better. Good luck!
