Anybody hunt em?
Yep. We have a few on my lease in Nacogdoches County. Got on this morning as a matter of fact. :z-guntootsmiley:
Turkey in Tx!?!?!?!
yep..Have a few on my place in Red River County. Used to have quite a few until the loggers moved in on neighboring properties.

That's cool.
Nice. Would like to find some public land birds. Appears drought hurt our west Texas rios. Worst season of the five years I've been on lease out there.
Any updates in east Texas for this spring?
The population of birds on our lease near Shamrock, TX is better this year...quite a few jakes...still way down on total numbers from 3 years ago.
My place in Red River county is still down from the previous high numbers of 3 years ago.

Thanks for update. I hope to at least do some scouting on some of the type 2 spots this season.
I'm seeing some good sign and have game cam pics of one pretty good flock from December.
Seems like they had a good hatch from what I can tell.
I'm optimistic about this season. :z-guntootsmiley:
Called some of the WMA's and national forest offices today. Didn't sound too promising for huntable populations.
PM sent.
Super stocking this year in Texas.

Was up at the Red River place yesterday at daylight and heard several gobblers. Saw one group of 15 hens on neighbors place. Hear they had a good hatch here last year, so hope the population is on the upswing.
