Title: Black Hills, SD Hunting 2012
Post by: BHhunter on April 09, 2012, 04:37:54 PM
I know some of you folks come to hunt SD, so I just wanted to pass on an important message. We are extremely dry here this year with no forseable moisture to speak of. Many counties have already enacted burn bans to include charcol grills and smoking outside of your vehicle. If you are planning a trip here please be extremely careful with smoking materials and do not park in tall grass where the heat of exhaust sytems can ignite the dry material. It's also a good idea to carry a container of water in case of any unintended ignition. If planning to camp, it may be wise to check with the Forest Service on any burn ban restrictions in that area. We have already had numerous fires in this area this season, fortunately none got out of hand and burned large areas.
Have a great time, but please be careful.

Thanks for the heads up! Don't plan on coming thru this year but have had a couple great, successful hunts in the past.
