What does it say on the choke, or in the instruction manual?

The choke that comes with that gun is rated for lead only.

Thanks,

I called them today to ask that very question. No, it isn't rated for anything but lead.

I have shot plenty of HTL ammo through all of my 835 factory chokes

The 835 choke isn't as tight as several chokes being used by several people on this board. I think you'd be fine with 6 shot or smaller. My 2 cents.
