Title: 835 extraction problem
Post by: Fastcat on April 01, 2012, 06:56:49 PM
I spent the morning sighting in the Williams sights on my used 835. I shot a box of AAs through it and 10 win hvs 3.5inchers.  Twice, once with a HV and once with an AA the shell remained in the barrel.  To remove the shell i had to put my thumb on the extractor and cycle the action.  So my guess is the extractor spring needs to be  replaced.  Does this sound right?  Anyone else had this issue?  My gun is an old realtree mossy.

You got it right on the money.  I had the same problem with my old 835. New springs and extractors  and she is good to go for another 25 yrs !!!!!

I was having the same problem with mine and I polished the barrel and chamber lightly and now it works like a charm.

Polished mine and it cleared up also.

The problem was my fault, I scratched the chamber with some abrasive stuff and a little Kroil+Scotchbrite fixed it right up.
