Title: ported vs. non ported barrel

I have an 835 with a 24" ported barrel. Wat can I expect on the patterning board versus a non ported barrel? Granted im shooting 3 1/2 hevi 7's thru a stardot so I don't think its gonna much matter but was just curious to kno

Nothing, nothing at all. Maybe a slight reduction in recoil, but then again its an 835.

should pattern the same as a non ported in general, if its better it goes to all guns shoot different and you lucked out.

Thanks guys.  I was hoping it wouldn't make a difference especially after investing into hevi 7's, stardot and a truglo red dot

The main difference is reduced barrel jump. If recoil is an issue put a Limb saver pad on it and shoot away.

Does the limbsaver pad really make that much of a difference?  I was thinking about getting one but wasn't sure if it was worth it

It depends on what you are replacing. But if it solid or hard rubber yes the limbsaver is great.
