Title: Winchester shells
Post by: Sully53 on March 31, 2012, 01:56:08 PM
I recently purchased a box of Win. XX 3in. #5's to pattern, when I looked at the shell I noticed that the center part of the crimp was not closed properly, there were gaps and some of the shot was exposed, also some white powdery stuff was on top of the shell, anyone have an explanation? Not sure if they are OK to try or maybe I should return them? Thanks

The white stuff is just buffer that you're seeing.  You can return them but I'd probably just put a dab of clear finger nail polish or super glue over the opening to keep anything from leaking out and shoot away.

No worries, they will shoot just fine......more looks than performance related.

That dead turkey won't know the difference!
