My BIL and I went out to set up a couple more blinds right at dark. We were working way with tank netting and cutting brush when he said "there is a turkey at the end of the field". My binos revealed that it was indeed a turkey with at least 12" of beard. Good omen. We watched him leave the field and now we even know where he roosts. Come on opening day!
