I have heard good things about #5's from a 870 sm... just wanted to know if anyone has patterned this lately.
I patterned some before last season n a 23" bbl. 870sm.
I had several Indian Creek chokes and had some very consistant patterns. the 3.5" did the best with the IC ss .665 and averaged 150 pellets in 10" cir. @ 40yds. temps were in the lower 60's.
I shot some 3 1/2 5# last week in my 870 max gobbler 23" bbl with a .665 IC and got 170 in 10" circle measured at 40 yards. temp was mid 70s

that would be like a freighttrain :TrainWreck1:
those are great numbers, I was hoping they would be better than my H13 #6's

WOW!
I bet it would hit like a Mack truck!!! I've thought about trying them before but 6's have always been good to me.
here's the target i recounted it and it had 168 in the 10 and 74 hits in the head and neck!!

awesome pattern
no turkey is going to live through that
My old man shoot a 870 SM with 3.5 #5 XR and rolls birds at 60 plus yards. Deadly combo.
