I just got my order of 2 boxes of hevi 13 3.5 2 1/4 6's and in one of the boxes 3 out of 5 has no glue on crimp and you can see the shot and the shot buffer. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me with hevi shot. First time was in 09 and I told myself I wasn't going to shot hevi shot agian, but after I talked to hevi they fixed problem and sent me another box of shells. Has anyone else had this problem with hevi shot?
Yep, the crimp sealant they use sucks.
Some of mine were concaved, some were convexed, while others were flat. Makes me wonder how consistant they will be. Oh yea, I resealed all of my shells as soon as I got them.
I had the same problem. I notified them, and they sent me a hat. :D
I dont think that I should have to fix there mistake though, especially considering were paying 20 dollars a box.

One of several reasons I won't use them. There product works, don't get me wrong. But their manufacturing of their product is fly by night.
i have never had a single problem with any of the H13 i have ordered
Where did you get them?
I just got brand new MB in a new box, and they are sealed perfectly!
I know more than one retailer that is selling 2-3 year old stock...
mudhen
My roll crimps look great!! Oh wait thats handloads.

Yes it does, they should use Alex Plus!! ;D
I just went through all my boxes of hevi-13, and found only one box outta five had decent seals. Per slickys advice, I used Alex Plus, and I'm very pleased! :icon_thumright:
Just got 4 boxes, 2 out of 20 shells have crimp problems and are losing a little buffer...
Shouldn't matter how old they are - I've got lead that I've been dragging around for 5 years - ina and out of vests, in and out of luggage and no problems...

I know they have pretty good customer service. A friend of mine called and they took care of him right away. I have called both Kent and Remington in the past and could not even speak to a live person, only a phone tree. What a pain.

Just put some candle wax or Elmers Glue on the end, it will fix them right up. I had to do that to some Nitros I bought a few years ago.
:agreed: This will fix it right up.

Winchester Xtended Range loads used to leak buffer worse than any load I have seen. Don't know if they still do b/c I don't use them anymore.

i had some win. shells do the same thing.
I noticed this week that the Hevi #7s that I've had loaded in the Benelli were doing that - pushing in and allowing some of the buffer to be visible and escape. They didn't stand up to use nearly as well as I was expecting. They worked great on the two gobblers that I got in range, but the ones that I carried in my gun look to be the worse for wear for sure! Need to do some research and find the best thing to put on the rest of mine to avoid that...
little bit of elmer's glue on the crimp and you're good to go.
I have had the same thing happen on a couple of the Hevi shells too.
