Title: Nitro Mega Weight vs. Regular Nitro Question
Post by: South Alabama on March 26, 2012, 06:21:11 PM
I have patterened the traditional nitro 3.5" 2.25 oz 4/5/7's and i am getting very good patterns from polished 870 SM 24" barrel with a .665 Jellyhead.  I need to buy more shells ... would you recommend the Mega weights and should i expect similar patters to the traditional Nitro's? Plan to get same 2.25oz blended load ... also plan to call Nitro tomorrow, but i expect there are several members that have encountered this same dilemma.  Thanks for any advice and i certainly plan to pattern the new shells when they arrive.

a few less shot..should hold up against wind better . My friend bought the 517m  2 7/16 oz load and they looked good on paper at 40 yards. He shot them from an extrema 2 with kick off stock and still said WOW. The problem with megashot is, it may tempt us to shoot to far.

Not sure about your gun but I know they recomend different chokes in a lot of guns for the mega weight loads.
