There are all kinds of good choices but I'd recommend the Hevi-13, the SSX or the new .660 Pure Gold.
I'm seeing excellent results with all of them. In the Pure Gold, I'd recommend the Tempest, non-ported,
regardless of the shell.

Thanks,
Clark

Another for the ssx. 643. My cousin is shooting that same gun with the ssx and win hv #5, 3.5 and put 130 in the 10 at 40 yards. Im shooting it in my rem 870 special purpose 21" barrel with hev mag blends and got 213 in the 10/40 yards. :newmascot:

i like the .665 jelly head in my 870sm. ive shot the magnum blends, hevi straight 6's, and win hv 6's all in 3.5 in. any of these shells in my gun with that choke will kill a bird.

Plenty of good chokes.  They come in all flavors and prices.  It depends on if your shooting paper or turkeys.  If your punching paper you want the tightest you can get, period.  For hunting the tightest you can get isn't a bad thing infact it's good but bear in ming most any modern turkey load will carry enough energy to kill farther than it will "patern" no matter what choke you use.

Fact is most any modern turkey choke will work if you take the time to properly patern your gun and find a load it likes.  Then anything inside of 40 yard dies.  It's that simple.

The JH .665 shot really inconsistent patterns out of my Rem870SM with lead and HTL.  The POA/POI was way left as well.  I bought a Ventilator .655 and turned my best pattern with Pb and HTL 3"

169 in a 10 @ 40 with lead 6's 3"

275 in a 10 @ 40 with hevi 7's 3"

*Ventilator cost 12.00 plus shipping..hard to beat. :anim_25:
