Title: buffalo horn mouth peice?

Can anyone tell me how these mouth peices are made, do you turn them are they pre made do you have to drill them?

Mine comes 5" long and 3/4" round, but not perfect round. I cut it to the length I want. Then make it round on the lathe. Then drill the center hole on the lathe. Then turn the outside to the dimensions I want.
