Doing some discing today and stopped in the corner of a what and oats fields to disc it under at 6:30 pm . Ate my dinner and sat there in the tractor for for 5-8 minutes. As I was about to put the tractor in gear to get started, a turkey flew out of the grass about 15 yards from the tractor. I got out and eased over to where she flew out, and saw one egg on the bare ground.
I was going to disc a few rows under and leave grass on both sides to see if the turkeys would like it. Needless to say, I didn't do anything other than back out and leave.
God Bless,
David B.

Glad you saw her before you started. I've been afraid that's going to be the case up here for the past week.
:) :) :)
It's early for that, yes? I wouldn't expect them, in Alabama to start layin' for another week or so. A week or so after that here in Tennessee.
Why is it that when I read your thread title I wanted to yell:
FIVE - GOOOOLD RINGS!
Sorry.... ::)

I jumped a hen in late June one year and she had 14 eggs in her nest. I backed out and watched with binocs. She hatched them sometime around the 3rd week of July. That was way late.
I was thinking it was too early but with the weather about a month ahead of where it should be.....Makes sense
I got my first egg today.
