Title: Mad Max or Jellyhead
Post by: nogoodreezen on March 20, 2012, 04:07:58 PM
I had a friend recommend the mad Max choke tube but I've also read a lot of good things about the JH. What are your thoughts on the two chokes matched with a Mossy 835? JH costs about $25 less.

I can't talk for a Mossy, but in a Remington the JH pattern great at 40 with the tighter .660.  Interested what others using your type of gun suggest as the suggestions for my 11-87 SM were dead on.

For the price difference you mentioned, I would get the Jelly Head.

I have owned both chokes.  I still have the MAD Max .680.

I'd save and get a nice new Pure Gold .670 and be done with it. But if it was between those two i get the JH.

I put a Jellyhead .690 on my 835 and posted a 168 in a 10" circle at 38 yrds using the Winchester High Velosity 3.5  #6.  I never thought about another choke. I think it will do well for you.
