I have not seen this with my IC.  All of the wads I have found have been in good shape after firing.

Are they "Flight Control Wads"?

That's my guess.  Everything I've ready about wads getting tore up in the are from the flight control wads which don't handle ported chokes well at all..

I have never experienced, or even seen that on a "normal" wad.

No reports I can think of from any OG members using IC chokes
