Title: for those of you that shoot straight 7 nitros
Post by: fountain2 on March 20, 2012, 09:13:42 AM
I got a question.  Any of u shoot them in an 835?  Trying to figure which choke to shoot them through.  I have a 698 Sumtoy, 675 Sumtoy,  and a 690 jelly head.  I shot one through the 698 and was 230s, but at the time I didn't realize they were straight 7s.  They are the 2 7/16 oz loads.  My gun hasn't seemed to like the heavy loads in the blends, but they should still do well.

Y'all think the 675 with blow it?

Not the same gun or load but I run a 2.5 nitro 210h #7 thru a .685 {very tight} out of a sp10 and it shoots very good 380 - a very nice broad pattern too

but again two totally different guns - the 12- 3.5 has a much longer shot charge and higher pressure even though the bores are very similar

I may try it tomorrow then.  We will be headed back up then.  Maybe they will do well.

I shoot the 2 7/16 oz. #7's with a Rhino .670 thru my SBE 2 and I'm getting 320-330 hits in a 10" circle at 40 yards.

Look for .670-.675 in the 835. Jellyheads perform like a champ in several guns but don't compare to others like Indian creek or pure gold in 835 bore. It's all in what pattern you want too.

I was just wondering if I could choke the 2 7/16 payload down without blowing the pattern.   Only one way to find out I reckon

You fooling with this all over.  You know that it likes the small loads and the 2010 loads.     :bike2:

i did call nitro today since im sending some loads back to see if i could maybe swap them for some 2 1/4 loads in striaght 7s, but she said they are out of the hevi shot 7s.

if anybody does happen to have some 2 1/4 straight 7s i would swap

Im thinking the 675 may do it.  Hate to shoot it tho... :TrainWreck1:..kinda what they feel like.  The last one just flat hurt ..never had one feel like that, but maybe that was one of my "sensitive " days.
