Title: FastFire on an 1187
Post by: olywa on March 20, 2012, 04:33:45 AM
I just picked up a camo 20ga 1187 that I want to set up for turkeys. I have a camo Burris FullField II 1.75X-5X already on hand so I ordered the Aimtech saddle mount for it. But the more I think about it, the more I'd like to put one of the new FastFire III sights on it. Any recommendations for mounts that are less bulky than the Aimtech saddle mount? I'd love to use a Burris SpeedBead mount but they don't make one for the 20ga 1187.

Drill and tap the receiver and use the 336 mount, low and clean.

This....works and looks great!

Sweet setup! I would have thought that the 1187 receiver would be a bit thin for that. Did you use a local smith, or did you do it yourself?

i used a local gunsmith. you see how far back it sits. the metal is thicker there than up front.
