A while back I was contacted by the president of a local NWTF chapter in Virgina to see if I would be interested in building a call for their spring banquet and auction. Well here it is--Cherry with Maple inlays over soft maple with Redheart spacers and inlay and Cherry end blocks. The Maple came from an 1852 barn and it was 110 years old when the wood was cut in 1850 and it is a little wormy on one side--nice character I thought. Boy, this tuned out wicked with a nasty ornary and raspy hen in the right and a little sweeter younger hen in the left. The soft maple makes it a perfect tree talker and purring call as well. She's all turkey--hope the lucky bidder dusts some longbeards with it.
