Title: turkey call help
Post by: oldcreekhunter on March 12, 2012, 07:24:39 PM
ive called in and killed many birds over the years but lack the confidence to use mouth calls. imo i sound horrible with one. is a trumpet call an alternitve to a mouth call. ive never used one of those and would be interested in learning about some of their uses and if they are easy to use

They are not the most easy call to use. I have a pair of walnut hulls with fall hen bones in them that I use. They take quite a lot practice to to get good on them. I have used one for ten years and it takes me a little warming up every spring to get back in the groove. But once mastered they are the most deadly, or should I say one of the most deadly calls used. The other being the tube call.

Another alternative would be a tube call.
