Well, kinda sorta. I was driving home from shift at the FD :firefighter: when I spotted a gobbler walking across a field. I drove past, got my camera out and using the bushes along the fence, I snuck within range.
He was strutting and shock gobbling to the sound of the cars going by. I did my best (which ain't too good :-[ ) turkey call using my voice. But it was good enough. He gobbled. Well, sometimes. I got a few good pics and walked away happy as can be. :) That's about as good as it gets, pre-season. :icon_thumright: Now I'm gonna look up the landowners and see if I can get permission to hunt there. (not likely, but I'm gonna try)
Here he is. :icon_thumright:

Yes, that's a house in the background. Its next to a new subdivision that popped up out in the country, but has slowed down development due to the economy. Its a decent sized field with woods around it, next to a state forest.
If you look at the 3rd pic, you can make out part of a spur.
You lucky southerners. Still nothing in the frozen WV tundra.

Yes, I have a bow & a crossbow & a pop up blind. I was actually planning on that since it is close to the sparsely populated neighborhood, and there are horses in the pasture. I gotta ask though, the worst they can do is say no. ;)
I was stuck in a landfill working on a 826 compactor today..... I'm glad one Florida boy had a good day!!!
Good Lawd son! You could sit on their porch and shoot that one! :you_rock:
