Fine tubes. What are they made from?
top is bocote, the bottom one is a mystery wood. it came from a neighbor's pallet, and i currently don't have a positive id. it looks like black palm to me, just without the really large tubulars. whatever it is, it's a nice FREE piece of wood (the best kind)

I was curious about the bottom one. It does look like it has the characteristics of palm but I seriously doubt someone would make a pallet out of it. More than likely it is some type of oak I would imagine.
there was a discussion on what it was with no clear cut winner. some thought it was oak, some thought it was the outer edge of black palm. me personally, i have absolutely no idea. but it turns pretty easily and takes a finish well. i hope he has some more of the stuff
