What are the differences, and pros and cons to both?

You'll get a greater range of sound and volume with a long box. The con is that it's a bit more difficult to carry.
The short box has less volume and is a bit harder to kee kee, but is easier to carry.
At this stage of my turkey hunting life, I carry both. The long box goes in my pants cargo pocket wrapped with a rubber band.
