Just got a Garmin 650 and want to put some kind of apps that show the land bounder of WMA, National Forest, and things like that. I aways heard there are better after market programs out there then you can get from garmin. What has every one else found, or what do you have on yours?
Try this site and see if it will help.

Garmins topo maps I have show the boundries of the National forests and state wma's down here. Might want to make sure aftermarket apps dont void your warranty. Get the 24k topo maps from Garmin you won't be dissappointed.

Best things about the maps on this site is they are free....also more detailed than the Garmin.
my pc wont down dowload any of those.
The way I do it is go to the map site, pick the map I want, click on it then scroll down to where it says download PC version, Windows version, Mac version...or whatever and click on that. Then follow the instructions and when it's downloaded. I go to my Mapsource open it and on the upper left hand side is a drop down menu, click on it and it shows the download. Then click on it and the map opens.
There are a lot of tutorials on how to do it all on the site. If you don't have mapsource you can get it free on the site also.
I tried from gpsfile site also and won't download. Computer says the files are corrupt. Anyway, I found a different site called hunting gps maps. Came highly recommended. You have to purchase from them and they are around half the price of garmins.
It works for me on Illinois topo maps and if you can get it to work it will save a bunch of money.
