how are you guys picking the lot numbers you want, are you requesting it through online orders...? every local gun shop where im located i ask for the hevi 13 12gauge 3/1/2" 2/1/4oz 7shot and they look at me funny and say 7's for turkey...? ...we dont carry 7 shot ...i shoot 7's now so im a believer but i cant find them local i have to online order...?
If they sell Hevi-13 they will know what 7's are, as far as lot numbers go, i just go thru the boxes and figure out what is what at all my local shops. I don't shoot HTL loads anymore in my main gun so it isnt a big deal to me which lot is shooting good or not.
I can't find 7s locally either and this even at places where they sale hevi 13.
i agree seems like they carry every hevi 13 shell but the 7's
I have the same problem finding shells locally. But you have to keep in mind most people aren't as hardcore/ dedicated as the guys on this board. A lot of guys still think you need 4's to kill turkey's. Trying to sell them 7's would be like trying to sell a Ford guy a Chevy. Even the guys I hunt with laugh at me for using 7's, and that's after they've watched a couple die from them. The small shops won't carry them because they just won't sell as many of them as they will 4's, 5's, and 6's

That about sums it up right there. My local Gander only stocks %s in the hevi. That's fine as they will just crush a bird...or a coyote, or a moose :TooFunny:, but you loose so much in pattern density it isn't even funny. For pb I like 5s and 6s, but for htl I want 6s or 7s. If I'm going to pay for the upgrade, I surely want to see it on paper and more importantly in the woods.
