Post by: LSUSlik on March 03, 2012, 01:18:35 PM
Is a 28" barrel even worth buying for turkey hunting???  Its all I can currently find used but in a bind and need a turkey shotgun asap.

In my experience, it's an excellent length. I like barrels at least 26" long for those guns.

Thanks,

There's nothing wrong at all with a 28" barrel for turkey hunting. It will serve you well. Put a good choke in it a go hunting.

The longer barrels will get you better patterns period. The only reason people shoo shorter barrels is they are easier to carry in the woods
