not sure if I spelled his name right but Jimmie Johnsons #48 failed pre-race inspection and idk if they were given chance to fix it or not but because of a failed inspection Chad is fined 100K and is suspended for 6 races!
Sooner or later he is going to get a lifetime ban if he don't stop cheating. They all cheat, but Knaus seems to get caught more!!!
Add 25 docked points to Jimmie as the punishment as well... :bike2:

They were found on the 17th during a practice, before any racing had taken place. The C pillars were modified outside of Nascar's tolerances. They were cut, removed and replaced, that same day I believe.
Those 25 points put Johnson in the negative. We're all ahead of him in the standings right now. I'm sure it won't happen, but it would be interesting if he had a bad 2 or 3 more races, stayed outside the top 35, and had to qualify in on time once the 6th race gets here.
If this news is true I personally think this is BS. The infraction was found during inspection before any qualification run or race. They presented a car to NASCAR to enter and NASCAR said no go fix it. That should be the end of the matter right then and there. But if it was found after a race then that is a whole different story.
It's definitely true.

It's being appealed.
The word "intent"dictates the penalty.
Bird, i agree.
Hate to hear that..............just kidding :toothy9:
If I remember right he was caught last year at the 500 doing something and got suspended.
Keep in mind this is the same car from Dega' last fall, when on the radio Knaus instructed JJ "to hit the wall with the back of the car if we win this race".Makes you wonder if Nascar saw something at the R and D facility and decided to let them hang themselves come Daytona. The car passed the template test but an official noticed a small hump on the decklid.
I read that the car had passed numerous inspections before..
