ok guys ive got an 835 mossberg and i can't figure out whats going on. I shot 3" hevi 7s at 40 yards and got in the 180s with some big gaps in the 10. the choke was a pure gold. any suggestions about what i should try? the barrel is not polished

Clean it very well and try again or you could go with the 3.5's. What PG ya shooting?

the pure gold is a .670

.670 is a choke I've never tried. the tightest one I own is .675, so maybe a few folks with your choke will chime in. The Jellyhead throw a nice even pattern for me, but I get higher numbers out of others. I really think the 835 perform their best with heavy payloads.

If you do a deep cleaning and still are not happy, you might want to try a more open choke. With the 3.5 Heavy 7's I get 250 - 275.
