Tegfans post http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,1889.0.html reminded me of this gobbler my hunting buddy and I found on the farm we hunt. It looks like it bailed out of the roost and slammed into a forked tree.We took pics then cut the tree down for some close ups. 12 inch beard and small spurs. I had posted this before but it was lost to the great meltdown.

Found one exactly in that same situation about 8 years ago. What a horrible death!!

Ive seen them in a fence but thats the first one Ive ever seen in a tree

I hate it when stuff like that happens.
what a way to go! Thats crazy. I grouse hunt a lot and have seen some grouse that has die by flying into limbs. I actually killed one that had a huge splinter from a limb still stuck in it.
