WITH REGRET
America idolized and memorialized Whitney Houston, yet
looked the other way concerning her well known substance abuse and
tumultuous life with singer Bobby Brown.
Charlie Sheen is 45 and his story is all over the news
because he is a substance abuser, an adulterer, sexually promiscuous
and obnoxious.
Lindsay Lohan is 24 and her story is all over the news
because she is a celebrity drug addict and thief.
Something as frivolous as Kim Kardashian's stupid wedding
[and short-lived marriage] was shoved down our throats like they count
for something, WHILE........

Are all Marines who gave their lives last month for us.
There is no media for them;
not even a mention of their names. Young Men who most likely
came from rural America
seeking a chance to better themselves and to serve this county.

I agree it's a shame how those serving or have served seem to get pushed to the side at times.
Your right the stupid celebs either on tv or sports capture too much attention.
While those killed, wounded, get 30 seconds on the nightly news, then it's forgotten.
I think this country is trying to make up for the way vietnam vet's were and have been treated.
I guess some people feel good as long as the bullets are not flying at them and mines not blowing their legs off.
Yep, it's a shame.
Couldn't agree more, Sherrell.
100% right

And those facts make me fighting mad!

Amen to that, brother.. :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an
All these whack jobs we have in this country should be the first to hit the front lines.
Rest In Peace Gentlemen. :cross2: :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an :cross2: :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an :cross2: :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an
:smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an The moral fiber of this nation is being tested like never before! Rest in peace. :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an
:smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an. You are 100% right. It is a shame what some of this country has come to..
The only reason we are free & we can hunt and fish and earn a living and do the things we do is because the brave men and women of the Armed Forces have enabled us to do so. The whole Hollywood world is such a joke.. My hat is off to all those of the Armed Forces and those that protect and serve our great country, thank you very much & God bless all of you. As the bumper sticker on my truck says "If you dont stand behind our troops you can feel free to stand in front of them"...
Whitney who?
Can you say "Jane Fonda"? She sided with the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam War. I read somewhere that she is listed as one of the most influential women of the 20th century, or some such crap.
Muhammed Ali, or Cassius Clay, if you will, rather conveniently converted to Islam just about the time he was due to be drafted into the military. Now, he is considered the greatest athlete of the last century, and is idolized by millions.
The American people, it seems, have very short memories.

I still dont see the difference between WHitney Huston and the local crack heads around here. Where is their well publicized funeral?
I had the same thoughts awhile back. The local news here hardly say much about the local fallen soldiers anymore. They still talk about the Jackson's doctor thing.
SAD, VERY, VERY SAD!!!

God bless our troops! :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an :jesus-cross:
The problem is truly great people don't look for the limelight. Sometimes it findes them but most of the time it shines on a story rather than a truth.
God bless our troops, our veterans, and the USA!
:thanks: :agreed: :icon_thumright: Ive been saying that on facebook almost everytime I see a Whitney post.
Jesus taught that no great love is this that a man would lay down his life.
He stated that rarely will a good man die for his friend. These great men deserve to be honored and commemorated for their duty and sacrifice. I am tired of America becoming more preoccupied with narcissitic, spoiled celebrities and their problems.
That is not entertainment in my book, but rather something that reveals the spiritual problems that the individual is having. Only in America will we glamourize someones self-destruction.
Thank you to all of the vets on this forum, and those dads on here that have sons and daughters in the Middle East fighting for our freedoms.
:smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an Thank you to all our soldiers. May they Rest in Peace :cross2:
God Bless our Troops. :jesus-cross: :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an
:jesus-cross:........always faithful......rest in peace..
The flag should be half mast in every state they were citizens. Gmafb-- they did it for Whitney
