Post by: Trevor2 on February 25, 2012, 03:34:13 PM
Does any still make one? The gf is takin her hunters safety course and will have liscense in time to hunt this year if she passes. I want the lightest recoil for her possible. So my question is does anyone still make a 28 gauge.

I bought a 870 express 28 gauge 3 years ago with full intentions of using it on turkeys. It is light as a feather and some of my hunts involve walking 5+ miles. I killed one bird with it last year at a lasered 29 yards. I am in the middle of testing loads right now. As of saturday the 1oz W-W #6 is the winner. At 35 yards which should be the practical limit with the set up it put 120 shot in a 10" circle. Still working on it. reflexl

I have a Franchi 48 AL in 28 gauge.  As soon as I get my first batch of TSS loaded for my other guns I am going to get some more from Hal and load up some for the 28 gauge. I cant wait to try it.
