Title: Limbsaver recoil pad
Post by: Grobec1 on February 22, 2012, 05:35:46 PM
Just received my Limbsaver recoil pad from Muddcreek for my 835 with synthetic stock. Can anyone tell me if it takes a flathead or phillips screwdriver to remove the old pad and do I need to install the adapter?
Thanks

My synthetic stock 835 used Phillips head screws for the recoil pad. I did have to use the adapter to make it all line up.

Well I screwed up and ordered the 10200 my 835 is an older one and looks like it takes the 10112 according to the template. Will have to see if muddcreek Will exchange it.  Don't mess up like me.
PRINT OUT THE TEMPLATES ON LIMBSAVERS WEB SIGHT BEFORE YOU ORDER.

It's a great recoil pad and takes a Phillips head to remove/install. I'm sure you can exchange your pad with your retailer, if not, I'd contact Limbsaver directly. They are great folks who'll do whatever is necessary to satisfy their customers.

Thanks,
Clark

P.S. I've had to use several "grind to fit" on my older Mossberg shotguns.

I did the same thing and called Limbsaver, they did the exchange with me as the retail store would not do the exchange as the package was open. Their customer service is great if you talk to them right.. The grind to fit as Clark stated works well also just take your time and think it through.

Grobec,
My apologizes for the information I gave you.  My 835 is about 4 years old and has the hollow synthetic stock and the 10200 fit it prefectly.  Again my apologizes for the Bad Information.

No apologizes needed it was my mistake. Had the templates and was too lazy to take my pad off and check it. Lesson Learned.

Thanks for the info guys. Muddcreek said they don't stock the one I need. Called Limbsaver and asked for an exchange. No problem they took my address and said they are going to mail me the correct one. "After you receive the new one and are satisfied with it you can mail the other one back to us." That is awesome customer service. wish other company's were that easy to deal with.

x2 Those things can be a life saver, I had Mossberg 500 20 in ,synthetic stocks, camo  and weighed very little. It would kick the living you know what out of you. The limbsaver made it a whole lot better!!!

I ordered one from Mudd Creek on Feb. 7th and still have not received it.  I have called several times and no one answers.  Probably won't be using them again.

Go to limbsavers web site and print out their templates and compare them to your stock. You will have to take your recoil pad off your gun to do so. When you find the one that fits the model # is on the template. Order from Limbsaver or any other place you can find it at a good price.

I was not happy with their response when I emailed them about exchanging mine.  "I am not sure we offer that one". That was all I got. Kinda weak.
