my son has gotten access to over a thousand acres in central Mississippi, (pocahontas) above Jackson, anyone familiar with that area, i have hunted Miss before, but not in that area, land is family owned and "supposedly" no one turkey hunts on it. might have to make a trip closer to home with the price of gas, any info would help, i know i just need to go and see for myself if it has any turkeys on it, oh yeh, and carry my gun & calls
I hunt about 100 miles south of there, our state has plenty of turkeys! Good Luck
It's about 30 min north of Jackson
Brother I am not trying to be a stick in the mud, but if it is in Mississippi, and it has turkies, then it is hunted about 99.746354758% of the time. The area you are talking about has a lot of game on it especially in the Big Black river swamp.
if you are down here hollar at me

Preacher i know how them Mississippi turkey hunters are, bout like the ones everywhere else, they don't consider it tresspassing if they can hear a bird on it and can get to him, but i just hope they ain't killed them all
Im in Jackson if you wanna try em...
Need to look at the out of state license fees for MS. They are real steep if u bow, mzl ldr, gun and turkey hunt. I found one of the best clubs ever in MS but said no due to the license.
It will definitely have turkeys on it. Pretty rural area and even living in MS my whole life had never heard of it. It's only about 15 minutes tops from Jackson.
Might definitely be some good ol' boys around them parts if it's way out in the country but sounds promising for sure. Should be turkeys all over it if I had to bet.
You should have a good hunt. There are plenty of birds in that area.
Pocahontas? Yeah, I know where Pocahontas is. I would like to volunteer my services to conduct a wildlife population inventory and assessment on the subject property. Just PM the directions to the property and gate codes.
Thank you for this opportunity to help you.
