Title: Ol Tom I-Beam vs Mossy Oak Limbhanger
Post by: TANK on February 20, 2012, 09:43:58 AM
I have had a Limbhanger for the past 5 seasons, and its finally shot.............So I purchased a Ol Tom I-Beam in Bottomland and it finally came in. Now I'm not so sure I'm going to like it. It flooded here all day Saturday so I haven't gotten to sit down in a hunting situation next to a tree to "test" it out. After the rain stopped I didn't want to get it muddy in case I want to return it. Just from wearing it inside the house it seems like its hard to find what you need and then be able to get it out. I'm worried about my box calls falling out of the pockets because it doesn't have any way to secure them in. I'm not a fan of the seat cushion at all, but I do like the fact that its light & seems like it will be cooler than the Limbhanger. So for the guys who have the I-Beam whats it like? Give me your pro's & con's please.
One of the main reasons I decided to go with this vest was because of the Bottomland pattern. If I could have gotten the Limbhanger in Bottomland thats what I'd be wearing in the turkey woods. Do any of you know of another vest thats available in Bottomland, other than the Primos vest's & Super Elite's????? Thanks

I too have the limb hanger and wish the back had additional padding. I added an air cushion to the seat for extra rump cushion on those long hunts. The pockets and vest layout are nearly perfect otherwise.

It was either Macks or MidWest had a misprint out in last years catalogue that said you could get them it in Bottomland. I like the Elite's but I find them to hot down here. I actually have one. But Thanks for the comment!

I was looking to get a Limbhanger. I understand it was made by Russell. You can still buy some on the internet. Russell has discontinued making the Limbhanger.
