Title: Benelli Vinci with 24" barrel shooters?
Post by: earlyriser on February 19, 2012, 12:12:06 AM
I am trying a couple  different  chokes/loads out of a 24" barrel.

Combo #1- Indian Creek .665
                   Hevi-13- 3"  2 oz. 7 shot  & Nitro 3" H378i 4x5x7 & Mag Blends in 3"

Combo #2- Trulock Precision Hunter .665
                    Federal Heavyweight #7's

Do any of you shooting a Vinci have these combos or maybe something similar? What should I expect out of any of the combos above?

Thanks

Keep us updated.  I have 3 Vinci's and 1 Super Vinci but I don't turkey hunt with them.

I have the 3" Vinci with a 28" barrel and also the SBE with 24", 26" & 28" barrels, plus a Nova with the 3 same barrel lengths. All those guns have the same barrel i.d. so what works in one, pretty much works in the others. The Vinci does have the Crio barrel but that's just a treatment to the steel and I've seen no difference in patterning for turkeys.

I'm seeing my very best results through those guns with the Hevi-13 Turkey Chokes and the 3" Hevi-13 "Bronze" shells with 2 oz. of either #6 or #7 shot. I've shot the rest and it's become my go to choke for those guns.

Thanks,
Clark
