I like to hunt all hours if the days, mid day and evenings have been better for me in the later part if the season and after the gobblers has bred the hens and are looking for new ones..
early morning, misting rain and foggy
I really love the first of the morning for all the gobbles, but mid day is a great time to kill a turkey.
the first hour.
Nothing beats the Spring Morning time
The first two hours after daylight.
Not necessarily my favorite killing time though.
First hour of daylight....I'll never get tired of hearing the woods wake up in spring!!!!
But if nothing the first hour I really like it between 10:30 and 12PM.
God Bless
Crack of dawn.
My Favorite time to hunt is the first hour or so of daylight. I've killed more birds in late morning or early afternoon.
I love to hear the turkeys come alive in the morning but I must say that turkeys are just as much fun to hunt in the afternoon as they are first thing in the morning, I think a lot of people are missing out on the best hunting by giving up in the morning! ;)
Any day and any time for me! :funnyturkey:
Breaking daylight
I have to admit, I love a "Wham Bam Thank You Mam" kinda hunt but it doesn't always happen that way.
Sometimes you gotta stick with em till they're ready, so my "favorite time" can & will vary from day to day.
So, I guess my favorite time has to be whenever he's ready to die.

My favorite time to hunt is anytime I can get out. I love watching Gods creation wake up in the morning. All the birds starting their day and the King of the woods making his location known.
TRKYHTR
early morning and late afternoon...
Right at the crack of dawn..but had more luck from 7 to 11. Everywhere I've hunted for the last 20yrs or so has had a 1:00 cut-off so don't get to hunt the afternoons.
I love being there at daybreak, but get most of my birds around lunch time. enjoy your nap.
I'm another that loves the early morning chase but mid morning has been good to me. A lot of it depends too on the time of the year. Early season is great in La but its not long before it's hotter than a fire cracker and those mid day hunts get tough towards the end of season.
First couple of hours after daylight. Evenings are good also. :funnyturkey:
I love listening to birds sounding off on the roost and watching grey light change to dawn. But most of my birds are taken from 8:00am-11:00am. Wouldn't know about the afternoon gig since the powers that be here in Florida only allow private land hunters the opportunity to do this. :'(
2 hours after daylight and 2 hours before dark.
To me, there is nothing like a cool spring morning!! Don't think I will ever get tired of it!!
Jody
10Am tp 4pm
First light, can't beat the sound of Mother Nature waking up.
Hard to beat the am gobbling! But, as far as the best time to kill one, often is around 9:30 -noon for me.
Early Morning
10 am to around 12 noon
early moring in march mid morning in april.
Any time I can go! :) It's tough to beat early in the morning when a bird is sounding off from the roost, but afternoon hunting, if I have a bird located, is fun too. You may never hear a gobble, but there is something exciting about the anticipation of seeing him any second. Kind of like deer hunting on steroids. Neill
nothing like that first gobble of the morning so thats what I like the best/....
Favorite time to HUNT them.... first hour of the day.
Best time to kill them....Middle of the day
Like the gobbling early in the morning but LOVE to catch them alone in the middle of the day :smiley-char092:.
Crack of dawn then mid morning
I agree the break of dawn is nothing but an awesome creation of God!
I enjoy the first hour or 2 of the morning more than any other time of day in the turkey woods, and also see more success at that time as well. For me, there is nothing better than sitting against a tree, all set up, fog settling over the field, with a gobbler 75 yards away screaming his head off.
Early morning because you can hear literally hundreds gobbling on the roost where I hunt.
2nd is late afternoon
All day especially if they're gobbling!
daybreak is my favorite time to hear them, but I have killed more birds between 11 and 1 that at any other time of day.
I love to be in the woods at daybreak. It's wonderful to hear the woods come alive. My best hunting has come more towards mid-morning though.
Hunting, first hour of day light. Killing late morning.
i kinda like mid mornin...bout 10 or so.
Anytime Ole Tom thinks Im his girl.... :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an
I love to see the woods wake up at dawn and listen to that gobbling!
Anytime my time lets me get intot he woods, but I do enjoy seeing the woods wake up.
To hear gobbles- early morning. To kill- 10-1
x2 :fud:
It's gotta be pre-dawn and the first hour or so after dawn. Love to hear the woods come alive and, hopefully, hear the toms gobble.
first light when they first start talkin
Nothing beats an early morning inthe Turkey Woods.....but have killed way more long beards after 10am.
While I have more success later on, I still love hunting them right off of the roost. More gobbling, more action, more excitement, more fun.
All day long! I do love to hear the woods come alive in the am though.
I've had more luck between 9am and 11am personally, although that sure doesn't keep me in bed - There's nothing like hearing the woods roar at the break of day...
morning or evening
every chance i get. i love the morning. but we have better luck on the farm in the evenings
My favorite time is right at daylight. My killing time is 9-11 in the morning.
