I came across a deal today:
Old School Remington Hevi Shot 12 3" 1125 1 5/8 6 $18 Box 7 Boxes
What is your opinion on these shells and their value?

Awesome, you are one lucky dog.
Snag them up. I used them for years. The 1 3/4oz shell was a better patterning shell but they are still worth having around even if it's only to help sight in a scope on a gun.
Any old pattern pics of these
If Remington still made the 3.5 in. 1&7/8 load of Heavy #5 I wouldn't be using anything else. They shot great in my gun.
grab them all

I agree.
The original green Remington Hevi-Shot shell was made in two 3" weights, a 15/8 oz. @ 1225 fps and a 11/2 oz, @ 1300 fps. and In 31/2", 17/8 oz. @ 1300 fps and 13/4 oz. @ 1225 fps. I killed a bunch of turkeys w/ the 3",15/8 oz. load w/ 5's and w/ 6's and the 31/2", 13/4 oz. In every gun I patterned both the 3' and 31/2" heavier loadings @ 1225 fps patterned better than the 1300 fps shells. I've still got over two cases of the turkey loads and wouldn't hesitate to hunt turkeys w/ them again, but since the advent of the Hevi-13, 7's, they are being used on ducks and geese. At $18/ box of 10, that's a great price for hunting turkeys or ducks.
Figured they make great wood duck loads if I didnt like them
Not to brag........ but I snagged up 10 -5rd. boxes of Hevi13 #6's 3" shells with 1 5/8oz shot for 9.99 a box.
I don't plan on shooting them, but cutting them open to take the shot for my own handloads.
Cheaper than buying it in bulk. $106 for 5lbs of shot.
Tons of hevi 13 for sale here 8.99 box i cant figure out how post pics from iphone
A store in town has many boxes of thes old Remington Hevi in 3.5" #5's and #6's. Anybody shoot these from an 835 and a StarDot, if so how did they do?
I get better patterns with the rem hevi shot 3 1/2" 1 3/4 oz #6 than I do with any of the hevi 13 loads from my stoeger p350.
That's a DEAL!!!!!
They are turkey killing shells, but they are bad to leak the buffer. I bought a bunch of the 10 ga shells for $10 box a while back, should have bought all they had!
