Just a little survey , to see how turkey hunters prefer - we do these polls about every year , and the information is enlightening -

*****  if you use a Winchester elite 12gg or the like , that is the equivalent density of Hevi Shot vote on that selection if wish

I voted number 6 lead, but I will be running hevi out of my new 870, I just don't know what size yet.  I'm thinking number 6 hevi as well.

Have been using #5 lead 3 inch in my 870. This year I will probably be shooting #7 Hevi in my new 835.

I predict you will convert.  They are downright nasty.  Just open up your choke a little.

PS- I shoot TSS 9s

It would be interesting to see this poll in the General Forum; Hevi 6 and 7s may be leading here due to location bias.  Turkey hunters who have been shooting lead for years may never visit this corner of the forum due to lack of interest in improving their pattern / gun performance.

Just a thought.
