Title: Crow Hunting.
Post by: BOFF on February 15, 2012, 10:49:46 PM
Got the Model 97 out this morning and called a few crows in.

I was rusty with the wing shooting. Although I was alone, it was still rather embarrassing. I shot 24 times. :TooFunny:

Fun time though!! Will do it again after things settle down.

I have your 97's little brother.....Model 12 made in 1920. I LOVE those old Chesters! I killed a longbeard with mine 3 seasons ago before work one morning. I might go for a repeat this season.... :fud:

Thanks guys!!!  :toothy9:

I actually shot eight, but only picked up seven, as one dropped on the other side of the oak flat.

Do you guys eat them?
I've been thinking about shooting some crows.
Long season and you can shoot 24. sounds like fun when theres nothing elses to do.
But I wouldn't know what to do with them?

Haven't ever tried crow, but I 'm gonna give it a try. Just figure on using the breast meat.

One of my favorite things to do. Can provide more action than duck hunting. We have had hunts in the past were we have killed 100 or more birds. But they can also be very tough to hunt, they are smart birds with great eyesight

That is a lot of fun, I use to hunt crows all the time with a shotgun and Rem. 5mm Mag.

It's fun for sure. Not much left of them when I go, though. I generally take my .22-250 as all the crows around our place have gotten rather weary.
