Title: Rem Super Full Turkey Straight Rifled Choke
Post by: Mr16Gauge on February 15, 2012, 02:39:59 PM
Going through a box of "extra stuff" we found a Remington 12 ga Super Full Turkey Straight Rigled Choke.

ED is .680 with 9 straight rifled groves.

Anyone shoot this choke?

Appreciate the input and assistance.

I have one that I used in my Rem 870 SM. It shot really good patterns with the "Old" Pre-FW Federal Premium 3.5" 2 1/4 oz. of #4. I still use that choke and load. I killed a nice gobbler with that combo and to this day he remains the ONLY bird I ever shot that was Bang-Dead. He did'nt flop at all just went straight down and did'nt even disturb the leaves under him! IMO it's a good factory choke. Try different loads and you may agree. Good luck.

WTT

Thank you for the update.

I recall reading one time that John Phillips Souse had a straight rifled barrel made for his Model 12 Trap Gun and at the time, it was "the way to go" for trap patterns.

Will try our favorite Winchester Extended #6s first, then make some decisions.

Again, thank you
