That's cheap :goofball:. Look it up on Cabelas.
I think its pretty low to name a new line of calls HOOK CALLS knowing theres a company called Hooks Custom Calls..
I'd never pay that for a mouth call either
Did you get the squealing hen instead?
Well I guess you get a nice box with that turkey call! :TooFunny:
:z-dizzy:
Hard to believe its double the price at some places

Agree. Sharp Hook, Long Hook, regular Hook, there's a whole series of them.
I gotta admit I have the entire series. I like the way they all sound but I will admit they are extremely expensive.
That price is ridiculous. I'd buy the supplies and start making my own before I bought those
they may say hooks but they dont run as good as as real HOOKS mouth call
Dang....looks like Primos went and hired one of the Gas Company Executives to run things. Probably inst even made in America.
Primos has them on their website for $14.99. Or two for the low low price of $24.99. I'll continue to get mine from the FINE Companies that advertise here on OG. These calls have proven themselves, year after year!

Primos has proved themselves year after year. Don't get me wrong I support these custom call makers and will continue to but primos also makes good calls......extremely expensive because I their name but still good calls.

Everyone has their own opinions I suppose . . . . Because I've always thought Primos calls to be crap, there mouth calls at least. I dont have much experience with their friction stuff and dont intend to start. . . .

I cannot speak to their friction line, but the only mouth call I carry and run anymore is one of their stack frame calls. That is one raspy sounding call that strikes a lot of birds for me. :icon_thumright:
That is absolutely obsurd!!!! How much does that thing cost to make? 10 cents at best.
All that traveling around with his crew I guess makes for some expensive R&D.
I call BS. No matter how good it sounds, I bet i can kill just as many birds with a 5 dollar call any day of the week and twice on Sunday!!!

not worth that kind of money
I killed a lot of birds with a primos mouth call...switched to Hook's 3years ago and use some head rusher calls as well, they are consistent from call to call...couldn't say the same for primos 3 years ago....
Is it not AMAZING that we will complain about the price of a mouth call being 10 or so dollars BUT we justify paying 40.00 for 10 turkey shells?...................... :TrainWreck1:
That is steep. Most I have paid for one was $8.
I bought a custom call from a company in Alabama and loved that.
I like Will and the crew, but that is getting up there.
i guess im a dummy. i bought one. they sound pretty good only a dollar more than woodhaven. but they are definitely nothing special. :help:
They are the coolest looking mouth call!!!!
That's where the additional $10 comes from
For that kind of cash.....I can support a local Hooker!!!
when you buy that call do you get kissed or just #$^@(#
MADE IN CHINA
I've never been a big Primos fan..tried a lot of their calls, deer grunt tubes and turkey mouth calls. None ever stuck with me. The grunt tubes seemed to never work in real cold weather and the mouth call reeds were too thin for me.
I been buying nothing but custom turkey calls for the past 20yrs or so. All the mouth diaphragms are way over priced in my opinion, but so is everything else.
On a side note $10.00 or so ain't all that much for a mouth call when you use them as long as I do. I got some just as good as the day I bought them that are probably over 5yrs old. I freeze them in small container of water after the season.
hoyt..........
You freeze your mouth calls in water after the season?? Doesn't it effect the reeds at all??

I also freeze mine. It keeps the reeds separated and does not effect them in a bad way.

Not at all...I said I got some over 5yrs old...but probably got some about 10yrs old that are good as new. I keep the ones I'm using during the season in an Altoid can with a pc of sponge in it. I pour a little water and Scope on the sponge and run warm water down onto the reeds from the open end of the calls every day after I get back from a hunt and try to remember to keep them in the fridge when not hunting. Don't always remember to do it, but do keep them moist.
My wife bought me one and its ok, but its hard to beat my Hooks Executioner and some of my Woodhaven calls. JMO :)
I grew up in Mississippi and for over 25 years have used Primos mouth calls. I've had a true double in my call pouch every year since I started hunting and it was my go to call. Needless to say the last few years, Primos has really missed the mark with mouth calls..especially with those signature (green) calls.
For the past two years I have used woodhaven and hooks executioner exclusively, but since I've been a Primos man for most of my life I did try one of these new calls.
I would say...give it a try. I think they are finally back to making great sounding mouth calls. Especially the "Long Hooks" model that I got. It has taken the place as the "go to" call for me. It's really easy to blow and has a raspy sound that I think a lot of calls have lost.
