Title: Needing some help from my Middle Tenn Brothers.
Post by: hoosiernavy on February 12, 2012, 07:55:13 AM
Hey all, just made the move recently down here to the Sumner/Davidson county area and looking for some information on Cheathem WMA, the 20,000 acre area. Haven't really been able to locate any private ground yet. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated,
Hope everyone is jazzed up for the spring as I am.

Cheatham and Cheatham Lake WMAs have plenty of birds to get after.
Cheatham Lake in particular borders Dickson County, which is about the best place for birds in the state.
You're going to see other people out there hunting, both locals and folks coming out from Nashville, so Id get out there and drive the roads as well as look at TWRAs online maps and google maps to figure out where you want to get started.
Best thing to do is drive out there a few weeks before season several times before the sun comes up or before it goes down and try to find some different roosts.

After you get that down, Im sure you know what to do.
Take off during the week to hunt if you can.
