Title: Cabelas TCS Ghillie Suit
Post by: StruttinGobbler3 on February 11, 2012, 07:27:28 PM
Does anyone use this suit? Its kind of a hybrid between a ghillie suit and leafy suit. Does anyone know how the sizes run in these suits? I wear a 34 inch waist in pants and have a 47 inch chest, so I'm thinking a medium in the pants and a large in the jacket. Just trying to get a more exact idea. Can anyone here help me out? Thanks.

I don't have this particular suit, but while a Medium for the pants sounds about right,  I'd get an XL for a 47 in chest. Better it be a bit large than a bit small.

I think that thing is awesome, but I believe it would be too hot for South Louisisana.

Thats my only concern with the south georgia heat. However the reviews I read mostly said it was a light cool suit, so we'll see.

I agree with Tank and turkey slayer. It would probably be ok for early season, early morning hunts but after that it would be too warm to hunt comfortably. They do look like they would get the job done though.

I just got my tcs suit from cabelas a few weeks ago.  Although I havent hunted with it, I am 100% confident it will get the job done.  I got the seclusion 3D pattern and it looks great!  The entire suit is mesh.  If you look through the suit from the inside you can see through it, but not vice versa if that makes any sense.  Unless you had on layers or it was pretty humid with no breeze you shouldnt get extremely hot in it.  It is very quiet and doesnt have a rank odor like some ghillie suits ive used in the past.

As for sizing, I have a 34" waist also and ordered large pants.  If you will ever wear the suit in cold/incliment weather youll want room for those layers.  The pants fit me perfectly and have an adjustable waistband to tighten it up if needed.  I have no idea what size my chest is, but Im 5'11" and 185lbs, and i got the large jacket.  It fits me perfectly.  If anything its a little long, but it also is adjustable at the waist.

Hope this helps.  I can put up some pics tomorrow if that might help any.
