Title: Winchester 1300 - Patterned Today
Post by: gobbler777 on February 07, 2012, 09:51:47 PM
Took advantage of some decent weather today to pattern an old friend. It was sunny, 54 degrees, 5 mph wind. Took a Winchester 1300 pump I won at a Turkey Federation Banquet about 20 years or more ago. It has the laminated stock with a 21" - 22" barrel. Put a Pure Gold .670 on it.
First shot was with Hevi 13, 3" , #7s. At 40 yards, I got 202 in a 10" circle. POI was a little high and to the right.
Second shot was with Hevi 13, 3", Blend. At 40 yards, I got 151 in a 10" circle. POI was right there.
I'm glad I had a Limb Saver recoil pad on it LOL. Guess I'll put some adjustable fiber optics on it and it should whup a gobbler just fine. Any recommendations that would benefit me using this shotgun is appreciated.

I'm getting around 220 in a 10 and 80% of my pattern in a 20 inch circle at 40 yards with the same set up as you. If you will deep clean and polish your barrell those numbers will go up.

I use the truglo pro series magnum gobble dot, on one of my 870's and the work very well. They mount right to the vent rib.
