How would a Chestnut striker sound on a slate over glass in my Wild Cherry pot? Would the combo work?

Haven't tried that yet, but I will this morning and let you know as soon as I get out of the shop......most likely chestnut being semi soft wood with the open and straight grain, you'll end up with a mellow sound, something quieter for the early morning or roost caller....we'll see.

Actually chestnut has a high pitch to it, and it will play soft but high pitched and should work good for some soft tree talk?
