Only hate them because they don't fit my hand.   >:(

I am learning to love them. Never had one until a month ago. I bought a Gen.4, 23, and love the heck out of it. I do believe I will own more..I shot it today, as a matter of fact..

Another plastic Mattel Toy Company product. Save a little more and buy a sig.  :)
On a serious note theyre good guns I just prefer a gun made of metal. Had a buddy who's house burnt and the glock didn't. Pulled it out of the ashes cleaned it and shot like a new one.

Love my G27, but I do plan on replacing it with the G23. I don't carry the Glock as much as my LCP, so I can tolerate the longer grip. Great guns though.

Not real pretty but I carry one for a living and own another for off-duty.  They are one tough gun and very reliable.  They shoot pretty good too. :icon_thumright:

Never particularly cared for the Glocks. I know many people love them but they just don't fit my hand. They are tough pistols though. Run a clip through a Kimber one time though, and you will not want to own anything else.

They are polymer!

I really like the Glock.  Very simple and functional weapon with few parts compared to others.

Not the prettiest handguns, but I stake my life on my G21 every shift I work.

10 years ago, I would have never bought a Glock.    After carrying one since 2004, my opinion has changed and I will certainly buy my G21 if my department ever upgrades in the future.     It always shoots and it doesn't matter how filthy the gun is.

I've crawled through sand, dirt, mud, snow and briars and the Glock has been full of trash, but it still fired just fine.

I've had a 17 for ~10 years that probably has around 5000 rounds through it.   Haven't had the first jam, and I've ran everything from Double Tap +p loads down to the steel cased el-cheapos.  Had a few FTFs, but I'm almost certain it was the ammo.

My dad bought me a G29 for Christmas 5 years ago, and I've carried it more than any other handgun I've ever had.  Easy to carry, powerful, accurate out to 40 yards or so and plenty of power for me.  It too has performed flawless, though I don't have near the rounds through it as my 17.

For an every day, hard use pistol, I haven't found anything that works out better for me than the various Glock offerings.

I bought a Sig 229 Gen2 SAS about 6 months ago and it doesn't go into battery about 20% of the time, with 90% of the ammo that I have used. Blazer Brass is the only round that it will feed. It has been back to factory and they did not get it right. It is not even close to being reliable enough to carry everyday. A $900 pistol..Stay tuned!!

I have only owned my Glock 31 for a couple of months and have only had a chance to shoot a few rounds through it.  It actually doesn't kick like I expected (.357 sig).  I want to get the tru-glo tritium sights on it.  The fixed sights seem to be several inches low at 15 yards.

I absolutely love them . They are reliable and easy to carry due to the plymer frame and its light weight . I own sigs , Springfields and Kimbers . They are all great guns but the glock 34 is my choice for a carry gun ! I taught both of my daughters how to tear down and assemble a Glock and I have them do it in front of the boys they date . That way the boys know my girls can take care of themselves , LOL !!

I've tried to like them because the US HQ is here in metro Atlanta, I have known people that work there, and their prices are better than a lot of semi-autos.  But I just don't like them.  The fit and feel are not right to me, and I don't like the trigger safety.

I prefer an H&K USP or Sig, or even Browning Hi Power, Kimber, S&W, and even a Taurus or two.

The USP has a thumb safety/decocker like a 1911, John Browning got it right the first time, but not the palm squeeze.  I'm not a big fan of the palm squeeze.  A USP in .45 ACP shoots better than any 1911 I've had my hands on.

I have a 21SF that I modified to hunt with. The guns is super accurate and can be sprung to shoot .45ACP, .45 ACP +p+ or .45 Super. My favorite is shooting it with +p+ loads using a 185gr Nosler at 1250fps. Kills deer just fine. Here it is:

I have a g22 in .40 that I bought after Detroit P.D. Upgraded. They sent back to glock for refurb which made the pistol basically new then I bought it from a local sporting goods store. I have put many rounds through it and there's no telling how many were fired before I got it. It has Detroit P.D. Stamped on the slide and on the barrel which makes it unique.

I am looking for a good gun for personal defense in the future. My dad was a policeman when Glocks first came out, and then he chose to carry his Taurus 357 Revolver over the Glock because then they had a tendency to jam, and a revolver didn't jam. Being that he is a Vietnam Veteran, he knows about having a gun that has a tendency to jam when the pressure is on.

Looks like the company has turned things way around since then and looks to be credible. I see a lot of officers carry them on here so I respect and trust their opinions.
But, for personal defense, I think I am going to go with a revolver.

Hmm, that's interesting. My Glock 27 has never jammed, not once. Even when shooting cheapo ammo at the practice range.

I've had a G22 on my hip since 97 when out in the field.  It's been muddy, dusty, wet and every other kind of funky.  It has never failed to fire.  I've put about 7,000 rounds through it, with my only FTF being cheap ammo related.  I bought it as a backup when bow hunting and chasing pigs, and it has served me well.

I have only seen a Glock legitimately jam 1x and that was with simunitions.  Limp wristing can also cause malfunctions.  Hold tight and take the recoil and the gun will be fine.

Dont mind my slang.

Shooting with an "unlocked wrist" can cause a failure to extract and a failure to feed.

Years ago when they first came out, I couldn't believe that a plastic (ahem, cough) I mean "polymer" handgun could hold up over time. Then I heard about all the torture tests and amazing round counts and whatnot. I was impressed.
I also heard about how Glocks had been misrepresented in movies and in the media and that made me want to root for them...and I found out how law enforcement seemed to respect them and that really changed my mind.
As others have already posted, Glocks may not be everybody's visual or handling "cup of tea" but they're reliable, accurate, and tough. I think they're a good gun for their price range. I guess that qualifies as a "love" vote?

"Glock because then they had a tendency to jam"-- Not true, most coppers were treating them like revolvers and causing jams.  The weapon is virtually unchanged since being introduced.  I can put a Glock back in service as an armourer with a drop in part.  In 16 years and over 100,000 rounds fired in my departments pistols, we have had 3 locking block pins break on our original Generation 1 Glocks.  All 3 guns continued to fire and cycle without a problem.  Glock has since changed the composition of the locking block pin to make it less brittle.  You can find a slightly more accurate gun but you will not find a more reliable gun.

If they fit my hand, I'd have one on my side daily. Unfortunately, they point low for me. They are about as "bulletproof" a weapon as you'll find. Simple, accurate enough for serious social work & as reliable a piece of machinery can be.

As a competitive shooter (IDPA & USPSA), I have seen them puke, but not nearly as much as most other pistols. I currently carry & compete with a tuned S&W 5906 TSW. It has just shy of 90,000 rounds through it with only one failure to fire that was faulty ammo (deep primer strike but no detonation). I change ALL springs annually & recoil springs every 3500 rounds...springs are the heart of every firearm & probably the most overlooked maintenance item there is.

If they fit your hand, you'll not ever regret buying a Glock.

Be safe,

Nathan

There really good guns....I carried them a lot while working in law enforcement and I have also shot them a whole lot.  I also have my FFL's and sell them like crazy for the price you can't beat them.  I will say there no SIG and SIG's are the very best in my opinion but your going to pay for a SIG no doubt.  But I wouldn't hesitate to carry, shoot, or own a glock any day!  G23 is probably my favorite model.

ok first of my opinion of this is from selling this gun and seeing this gun in many departments....

Gen 1, 2, 3 their issue was broken guide spring (it was plastic) and we had several break..the customer service rep that we spoke with actually said to us "its a known issue have the officer carry a spare" our comment do you realize what you are saying????

all guns are personal choices, as a firearm, rugged, simple gun i am not comfortable with it, and do not like the angle of the grip so I shoot an XDM or XD for a polymer gun or a Khar....

I would still love to get one in 10mm just becasue lol

I would right away swap out the guide rod to a stainless part, sights (depending on gen) and replace all the pins, modify my grip angle a little to fit me better and then go shoot some and have a great time....

I think it should come with all stainless pins, guide rod, sights, etc over all with those mods, it is a relieable firearm...

YMMV
