Title: fed 6's
Post by: SumToy on February 04, 2012, 04:59:24 PM
Ok shot a 31/2-2-6 federal fcw lead out of a 670 in the rem 870. It gave 116 in a 10 at 40.  I did not do a 20 but will.   It look like a real good 15 to 18.    Had folks say it work I try to see.    What have yall got.  Looking to make this lead stuff come back.  HV go up so we fall back on the leaf shells.

At 63 degrees, in a 28" INV+ BPS, using an Indian Creek SS BDS .665 choke:

Win Sup HV 1.75 Oz. #5 = 131 in 10" at 40 Yards
PMC Copperplated 2 Oz. #6 = 170 in 10" at 35 Yards

Best ever pattern with Fed Mag Shok FCW 3.5"-2oz-#6 load was 121 hits in 10" at 40 yards.

I was using a Wright's .650" non-ported choke in my Mossberg 535 with a 20" barrel.    The temperature was around 80 degrees and I had just deep cleaned and polished my barrel.

That Federal FCW load typically puts around 80-90 pellets in the 10" circle at 40 yards at more moderate temps.

Check out my post in the patterning section. I was using the Win HV 3 1/2 2 1/4oz 6's, the two best patterns came from a PG .670 and a Star Dot .676. This was out of a 835.
