Title: New stuff for this Season
Post by: ThicketThrasher on February 03, 2012, 10:05:24 PM
I have decided to switch from a vest to a pack this season. After some research this is the pack I received the other day. I hope I like it.

I also have a new box call and a couple new tubes for this season. I got a set of Walker Power Muff Quads to see if they will help me hear anything. I'm done, not gonna get anything else. Are you guys getting any new toys this season?

My big purchase was a new 20 gauge for the daughter to turkey hunt with. For myself I purchased a new copper pot call and striker. Not sure what it will work like but some guys seem to say they work well.

ThicketThrasher,
Any reason to go to a pack over a vest.

I do a lot of walking in the National Forest. 1000's of acres and I'm out all day a lot. Sometimes i take a video camera and a tripod with me. That, along with plenty of food and water and sometimes a Fold up decoy just seems to not carry well in a vest if you travel very far. I love my vest, but I thought on days when I know I'll be humping it way back in there, I'll take the pack. But I can already tell that I'm gonna miss the easy access of my vest.

My wife says if I never bought another Item for turkey hunting I Would still be ok for the next 20 years. I usually go to bass pro 2 weeks before season and load up, last year I outfitted my wife with boots clothes
vest and a gun. I would hate to know what I have invested in all my equipment over the years. With that said I picked up a few more calls off of the call site. ;D

Well guy's spent some more. I bought a leafy suit an a HS woody jake decoy. I wanted a dsd but the price would have hurt right now. I'll get one next year, I'm waiting to see how the woody does, it looks great.
    Johnny......

I got a new  Pot call from Pat Strawser, and i new carlson choke for my muzzleloader. going to try and work up another load for the muzzleloader. Going to use a slower burning powder, and hopefully the ported choke helps so it don't kill on both ends. Really like the new call.
