Title: Hasting Barrels
Post by: rebelman on February 03, 2012, 08:26:12 PM
Does anyone know what thread pattern Hastings uses on their barrels? Looking to buy an aftermarket choke for mine and can't find any info.

I have an aftermarket Hastings barrel on my Rem 1100 that was bought in the late 80's.  It uses the Choke Tube II system exclusive to Hastings.  They have started making chokes for that barrel again, but in very limited supply.  Perhaps this link will help.

I have two barrels that were threaded for the CT 1 system which is compatible with all tru choke tubes.  I have been somewhat limited over the years with turkey chokes but more recently Pure Gold, Kicks, and several other companies are offering their chokes with tru-choke threads. The Hastings .665 non-ported choke that came with one of the barrels will sing with the Fed HW 7's.

For sure, i shot nothing but lead out of it for years and it patterned really well. I killed allot of turkeys with 4s,5s,and 6's. Inside 40yds it is was business with just about every load i ran through it.  I shot Hevi 6's out of it for a couple of years and found the best pattern a few years back with Fed HW 7's.  Its been a rare thing to find a choke that will shoot so many different loads well.

I'm still looking for a choke for this barrel.

Can anyone tell me which thread this is?

Futhermore can anyone give me suggestions for diameter, brand, shot size,  for a 3" shell coming out of a 24" hastings barrel on an old A5.
